_________will open our meeting with the Full of Faith Preamble, followed by ___________reading The Set Aside Prayer and a reading from the Big Book, page 25.
PREAMBLE:
Full of Faith is a Christian support group for food addicts in recovery. We apply Biblical principles in working the 12-steps, and we do not eat sugar, flour, sweeteners (natural or artificial), and volume one day at a time. We plan what we eat and eat what we plan. For more information about the ministry, go to fulloffaith.com.
SET ASIDE PRAYER:
“God, please set aside everything I think I know about myself, my disease, the 12 Steps, and You, for an open mind and a new experience of myself, my disease, the 12 Steps and especially You! Please help me to see the truth.”
HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT:
"The great fact is just this, and nothing less: That we have had deep and effective spiritual experiences which have revolutionized our whole attitude toward life, toward our fellows and toward God's universe. The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainly that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way which is indeed miraculous. He has commenced to accomplish those things for us which we could never do by ourselves." (Big Book, Page 25)
FOCUS:
At this meeting, we will be walking through the 12-Steps, using Pam's book, Sacred Journey, The Bible and the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. We will read and share. Best to find a recovery partner or a sponsor to walk with you through this journey.
______________has volunteered to read the 12-steps with relevant Scripture:
Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over our food addiction and that our lives had become unmanageable.
"I am completely discouraged. I lie in the dust…" (Psalm 119:25, New Living Bible)
Step 2: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
"Open my eyes to see wonderful things in your Word. I am but a pilgrim here on earth: how I need a map—and your commands are my chart and guide. I long for your instructions more than I can tell.” (Psalm 119 18-20, New Living)
Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Prov 3:5-6, NIV)
Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
"…let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work…” (Gal 6:4 Amp)
Step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
"Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray (also) for one another, that you may be healed…" (James 5:16, AMP)
Step 6: Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
"…Do not resent it when God chastens and corrects you, for his punishment is proof of his love. Just as a father punishes a son he delights in to make him better, so the Lord corrects you.” (Prov 3:11-12, New Living)
Step 7: Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
"But if we confess our sins to him, he can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong…” (l John 1:9, New Living)
Step 8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
"Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31, NIV)
Step 9: Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Col 3:13, NIV)
Step 10: Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
"Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature. Stop lying to each other, tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves.” (Eph 4:23-25, New Living)
Step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
"Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit's wishes. Plead with him, reminding him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.” (Eph 6:18, New Living)
Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to food addicts and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
"It is God himself, in his mercy, who has given us this wonderful work (of telling his Good News to others) and so we never give up.” (2 Cor 4:1, New Living)
Here are the guidelines for sharing:
If you want to share, you can raise your hand physically, although it is not always noticed. Better to press the "raise your hand" icon at the bottom of your screen.
Everyone is welcomed to share; however, we ask that you try to limit your shares to 2 minutes. We use ZOOM'S count-down timer, so you will see the time remaining on _______'s profile picture, and you will hear a bell at 2 minutes. Please stay on topic. We will limit the shares to no more than five for each pause. If you aren't able to share on one section, please share on the next.
As is the general rule in Full of Faith, we do not mention specific foods by name, as it could trigger food thoughts in others, and there is no crosstalk, which is commenting on another person's share (positive or negative) or giving advice. Using "for me" or "I" statements enables everyone to feel safe and protected in the rooms of Full of Faith. There is no abstinent requirement for sharing. Please keep yourself muted until you are asked to share.
For sharing in between meetings, join our WhatsApp group. Contact Raechel from ME to join.

CLOSING PRAYER: (Sacred Journey, page 18)
God bless us as we move through these steps. Bring us the light, truth, motivation and willingness to persevere to the end. We know you will be faithful. We know that your word tells us that we can move mountains with a mustard seed of faith. Help us, Lord, to grab hold of that mustard seed and give us the strength and courage to move our mountains. Take our fears, our resentments, our pride. Wash us clean and give us the hope of new life yet to come. It's in Jesus' name that I pray. Amen.
