Lord, help me to be kind and loving (tenderhearted) to those who will read this blog., and Lord, let each eye and ear be kind, loving (tenderhearted) back.   May my words minister to the hearts of those seeking more information, hope and help in overcoming food addiction and co-dependency.

Food Addiction is a cunning and baffling disease.  Until I realized and accepted that fact, I stayed in the problem.

I wrote my story on this website, and more in my book, "Sweet Surrender,"  but thought I'd jot down some thoughts that come to mind in the gist of living in the solution.

For the record, I got free from overeating on July 23, 1988.  I went from 203 lbs to my maintenance weight of 125 lbs..following  an abstinent food plan, with the help of a sponsor and people who had gone before me. I often say that abstinence  is the zero step in recovery. Transformation happens in working the 12-steps.

"Abstinence" refers to a food plan that eliminates all sugar, flour, sweeteners (natural and artificial) and volume.

"Working the program" is the many tools of recovery that help addicts journey through the process.

More thoughts tomorrow.
