Pamela J. Masshardt offers hope
to the embarrassed, frustrated, and discouraged overeater and food addict.
Through learned behavior passed from generation to generation, Pamela was
addicted to food early in her childhood. As she grew up, her life’s
experiences reflect the challenges of the disease. It is evident from her
humble character that God held the answer to her healing. She is a miracle
of sorts.
She was married her husband,
Carl, in l979. They have two children. Daniel was born in l980 and Joseph
in l983. Pamela has two passions in life outside of her family; one is
nurturing and teaching children. She has been self-employed as a Christian
family daycare provider for twenty years. Her other passion is her mission
to help the sick and suffering addict find Jesus in the recovery process.
In l988, Pamela surrendered to
the disease of food addiction, lost seventy-five pounds and learned how to
maintain a normal body weight with the help of a 12-step support group for
overeaters and food addicts.
Pamela considers herself a work
in progress. In l996 she prayed for a way to share the Gospel with her
addicted friends. Shortly thereafter, The Twelve Steps for Christians
meeting began at her home church, Faith Baptist Church in Auburn, MA.
In 2000, God asked her to write
a book, Full of Faith (or full of food?), to tell more people about
the gift that He gave to her—freedom from overeating through faith and hope
in Jesus.
In 2002, Pamela and her son,
Joe, designed this web site. In a matter of months, people from coast
to coast were sharing their experiences on the Internet e-mail loops.
Pamela J. Masshardt proclaims
the good news that comes with over sixteen years of abstinence from sugar
and flour. She is happy, joyous and free. The Twelve-Steps for
Christians by RPI gave her the tools she needed to find new life. She
is enthusiastic and believes that God has called her to make a difference in
the lives of people seeking recovery from the things that have separated
them from God.
Pamela’s testimony is her
ministry. By the grace of God, she is full of faith.
