STATEMENT OF FAITH

I believe in…

One God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who created all things by His almighty power and is in control of all things.

The Bible, which is God’s Word, and tells us all we need to know about what we should believe and how we should live.

Man, who was created perfect in the image of God, but who through disobedience became a slave of sin and liable to God’s justice.

Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became man, lived a sinless life and died in our place, taking away our guilt; who rose physically from the dead and is alive and reigning in heaven today as Lord of all; who will one day come again to this world and judge all people, condemning those who are impenitent and unbelieving, and taking to glory with Him those who have truly believed in Him.

The Holy Spirit, who works in the hearts of sinners, enabling them to believe in Jesus Christ and to repent of their sins, and who is a living reality in the lives of those who are true believers.

…The Forgiveness of Sin, which comes about as God’s free and undeserved gift through the death of Jesus Christ and is received only through faith in Him.

The Church, which is the world-wide community of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE TWELVE STEPS OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

Step one: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step two: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Step three: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Step four: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Step five: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Step six: Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Step seven: Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Step eight: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Step nine: Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Step ten: Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Step eleven: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Step twelve: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
